The deposition mentions both Frances and David Sternberg (a former Overland Park
psychiatrist). The Kansas City Star ran an article a while back that Frances Sternberg
contacted ‘a Rabbi’ to try and convince a key government witness from testifying
against her husband (David Sternberg). A federal jury did find David Sternberg
GUILTY on 13 counts of Mail Fraud, Interstate Transportation of Racketeering, and 21
counts of money laundering. David Sternberg was sentenced to 60 months in prison, 36
months supervised release, and restitution of well over a million dollars.
Francis Sternberg received 6 months of house arrest after pleading guilty to ‘witness
tampering’ in her husband’s insurance fraud case. Francis Sternberg was sentenced to
one year of probation, with six months of electronic monitoring and a $2,000 fine. As I
find more info, I’ll send it to you. The above was taken from the Kansas City Star
Archives and the Department of Health & Human Services Civil Remedies Division
(Appeals Board) at http://www.hhs.gov/dab/decisions/cr617.htm (you can’t make up
this type of stuff). S.W. Olathe, KS
Having followed the David Koresh Branch Davidian story for many years, it is
interesting to note how David Koresh justified his wrong doings by twisting scripture.
His congregation could find no fault in ANY of his actions. For that matter, there are
still Branch Davidians who pray daily to David Koresh on the belief he can bestow
blessings from the grave. This doesn’t sound much different than believing (The
former head of Chabad / Lubavitch) Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson (who died
in 1994) can bestow blessings from the grave too. There is nowhere in Judaism that
any dead person can bestow blessings from the grave. For that matter it falls into the
category or Avodah Zora meaning idolatry or strange worship. ( T.H. Overland Park

Attorney Albin: How can this dead man bestow blessings?
Rabbi Friedman: You take it for granted that he does bestow blessings.
Attorney Albin: It’s a fact that he bestows blessings even though he’s dead?
Rabbi Friedman: Yes

If you Google search “Is Chabad a Cult” you find very quickly that it is according to
most experts. Unfortunately, the people this group sucks in or already has in their
possession will always justify their wrongs just like the Davidians. The national cult
expert, Rick Ross, who was used by the FBI during the David Koresh Branch Davidian
incident, also believes that Chabad is not just a cult, but a destructive cult. Read about
some of it here: www.culteducation.com/groups/lubavitch.html B.T. Overland Park,

In my opinion, Chabad / Lubavitch is a “semi-messianic cult” which is why it is not
held in high regard in the Orthodox world. Even in the Kansas City area, they don’t
associate themselves with the other synagogues or other Jewish functions around town.
Or is it that the other synagogues don’t want to associate themselves with Chabad /
Lubavitch? F.H. Overland Park, KS
To identify a cultic leader you need look no further than their congregation. When
information comes out that the leader has been doing dishonest or illegal things and the
congregation either tries to justify his motives or just turns a blind eye, then you have a
cultic following. Here you have some Rabbi who lied under oath, who suborned not
just one, but two witnesses, and the strongest part of this is that it is not ‘hear say’ or an
overheard conversation. It’s his own SWORN TESTIMONY. You can’t be any more
reliable than that. This Friedman guy during a sworn deposition openly lies, and then
suborns a witness. Further evidence supports that this was his second time suborning a
witness. Very sad for his congregation, because they now have the stigma of following
a dishonest person and being of closed mind. Since this website has been up and going
strong for quite some time, I have to believe the things on it must be true or it certainly
would have been taken down. Avi Greenberg, Aish HaTorah
Note to Chabad people who defend those who either are found guilty or admit to
breaking the law. You are complicit in their crimes if you defend them based on their
"generosity" or all the “good” that he does. You are saying that it's okay for him to lie
and break the law as long as he does some good deeds which you value. As a religious
person, that is deplorable. Most people in a cult will defend their leader and ‘make up’
some rationale for them breaking the law. Chaim Waldberg, Chicago, IL
Kudos on taping the phone conversation. You can see he was lying through his teeth
and would have been believed if Gary Shayne didn't tape the conversation. It just goes
to prove that you have to tape virtually everything when dealing with “these type” of
people or they will change their story and bite you on the ass. He obviously believed
that his Rabbi title would make him believable, but we see it isn't so. S.K. Prairie

Looking at the way this Rabbi spreads false gossip, why would anyone use him for
counseling, confession, or even just small talk? His only purpose would be to help
other divorcing couples increase their attorney fees and unneeded hatred. I believe, in
Judaism it is called Sinat Chinam (baseless hatred). Our sages tell us that this unneeded
hatred was the sole cause of the destruction of the second temple. L.O. Kansas City,

My wife and I are planning to divorce soon. It would sure be nice to have a Rabbi and
his congregation in my corner willing to lie and exaggerate for me! Where do I sign
up? From the deposition, it seems all I have to do is come to Chabad / Lubavitch and
accept Rabbi Friedman as my teacher. I have to ask you a question: Is your ex-wife and
children still associated with Chabad / Lubavitch or was she just using them to benefit
herself in the divorce? C.S. Overland Park, KS.
WEBMASTER – She has disassociated herself and kids from Chabad at the point
where Chabad could be of no further use.
It is my understanding that there are actually two Chabad / Lubavitch groups in
Overland Park. I was told that Rabbi Friedman was originally associated with ‘Chabad
House’ but then broke off (taking many of the high donation members) on his own.
The situation was and still is so bad, that these two Chabad / Lubavitch groups don’t
talk to each other and have nothing to do with each other. If you look at their individual
web sites, neither makes mention of the other group. Even though I know nothing of
Chabad House, they are now guilty by association since both groups claim to be
Chabad / Lubavitch. H.W. Shawnee Mission, KS.
As a student at KU, I will admit that I was lured in with the parties and fun that Chabad
offered. Sadly, these lures are nothing more than holding candy in front of a child. Yes,
they have fun activities, parties, and even offer an abundance of alcohol for your
attendance, then they want you coming to their religious programs and start pushing
you to practice their religion and asking you to give them your money. Sadly, you can
see way too many fools and idiots associated with this group, not ever able to see
beyond the forest. I feel so lucky that I got out quickly. M.B. Lawrence, KS.
Hi. It's very unfortunate that your now ex-wife has become entangled in Chabad. I had
an extreme amount of dealings with Rabbi Schneerson and his Chabad gang when I
was in New York. They are very pushy and think they have ‘carte-blanche’ to do
anything they want to do. I’m glad you fought back and exposed this person. Way to
go Gary Shayne! M.W. Kansas City, MO
I see that both Chabad groups here in Overland Park have programs for children. Do
you know if there have ever been any problems associated with them in regards to
supervision, neglect, or abuse? I would bet you would find something if you
looked…… G.S. Overland Park KS
WEBMASTER – We are currently looking into this and will post our findings.
Be careful about some Rabbis who come to hospitals and visit the sick. Many try and
convince these people in poor health to contribute to their synagogue or to change their
will leaving their estate to their synagogue while they are not fully cognizant. I had to
leave orders with the nurses to not allow them any further admittance. Amazing, how
someone can turn a good deed into a bad deed so quickly. M.S. Leawood, KS.
Dude, you be the man! Just watch your back. When dealing with kooks you can expect
something kooky to happen. They are no different than Branch Davidians. In my
opinion, when a group starts changing their rules to teach children to lie and suborning
witnesses, they are not to be trusted and their leader is the least trustworthy of all.
Would you want your 11 or 12 year old child being taught by clergy that you can lie to
avoid a sin? Its amazing what sins an 11 or 12 year old child believe they need to avoid
by lying. Can I have permission to use your website information to republish the
deposition and pass it around to other students on campus? Others need to know about
this. M.M. Lawrence, KS.
There is a very big misconception in places outside of Israel and New York that anyone
who has a Rabbi title, is free of sin and only does good deeds. It does not take long to
check the Internet to find out that Rabbis are some of the biggest child abusers, whore
mongers, and thieves. Does anyone remember Postville Iowa, AgriProcessors? CEO
Chabad / Lubavitch Rabbi Sholom Rubashkin was arrested and charged with
conspiracy to harbor undocumented aliens for profit, and aiding and abetting document
fraud. He was also charged with defrauding a St. Louis bank out of $25 million
dollars. On November 12, 2009 Rabbi Sholom Rubashkin was convicted in Federal
Court on 86 charges of financial fraud, mail and wire fraud, and money laundering and
was sentenced to serve 27 years in prison and to make restitution. Rabbi Sholom
Rubashkin was born in Brooklyn NY to Avraham Aaron and Rivka Rubashkin, fervent
Chabad Chassidim. After his formal schooling was completed, he was sent out on a
community service mission, as is customary in Chabad circles. You can catch the
whole story on CNBC American Greed which is often aired on TV. There were many
community Chabad ties from Kansas City to Postville. H.S. Olathe, KS
